What does Surrender mean to you?

To me, it means to yield and accept the present moment. To let go of inner resistance. It doesn’t mean to do nothing about the situation your in or to stop making plans/action.

I absolutely love the book "Surrender Experiment". It's a constant companion that I find myself returning to time and time again this past 12 months, discovering new nuggets of wisdom with each read/listen. Michael Singer, in case you're not familiar, is a Yogi, Teacher, Author, Former CEO, a father, and so much more – truly a multi-faceted individual.

One of the remarkable things he did was establish the Temple of the Universe, tucked away deep in the woods of Gainesville. It's become his sanctuary, a place where he resides alongside a small community. What's even more fascinating is that for over 30 years, they've been hosting gatherings there every Sunday. I've had the privilege of attending a few of these Sunday Talks with friends, and let me tell you, they're absolutely breathtaking.

Now, let's delve into the heart of the book. This captivating read unfolds as a personal narrative of Singer's life journey. At its core, it revolves around his unwavering commitment to surrendering to whatever life throws his way. It's a principle that's deeply transformative. Singer's approach is intriguing – whenever he noticed his mind hesitating or resisting something, he would consciously let his lips part and say "yes." This simple yet profound practice opened up new avenues, leading him to connect with incredible people who have become dear to him and creating an abundance of beautiful experiences.

"The Surrender Experiment" isn't just a story; it's a powerful lesson about the art of letting go and embracing life in all its forms. His journey teaches us that our instinctual resistance often limits us from experiencing the fullness of life. By embracing the unexpected and saying "yes" to opportunities, even when they seem daunting, we can expand our horizons and forge deeper connections.

Through Singer's words, we're reminded that life's richness lies beyond our comfort zones. The book resonates with the idea that saying "yes" isn't a sign of passivity, but rather a declaration of trust – a trust in the universe's intricate dance and a belief that what unfolds is meant to shape our growth.

In a world where control is often sought after, "The Surrender Experiment" stands as a beacon of light, showing us an alternative path – one that's grounded in acceptance and gratitude. If you're seeking a book that could potentially reshape your outlook on life and inspire you to greet each moment with an open heart, this is undoubtedly a journey worth embarking on.
